Travel and hospitality industry leaders who specialize in diversity, inclusion and equity gathered for an honest conversation during a live panel at the May 20 Women Leading Travel & Hospitality Virtual Exchange.
Panelists included Keyra Lynn Johnson, chief diversity and inclusion officer, Delta Air Lines; Veronica Velazquez, senior manager, global diversity and inclusion, Expedia Group; and Amy Alexy, senior vice president and chief human resources officer, Royal Caribbean Group. The panel was moderated by Radhika Papandreou, managing partner at Korn Ferry.
In the video clip above, the speakers discuss how to expand talent searches to reach more people as well as what barriers need to be removed to guarantee a wide variety of candidates have equal opportunity.
There's no shortage of talent out there, Johnson said. Companies just need to make sure they're looking beyond traditional avenues and expand their visions.
"You have to start building those relationships before you need them," she added. "So when we're actually looking for people, they come to us."
