In this video, board director Lisa Bougie shares her board readiness playbook for women leaders working to gain a seat on a corporate board. She discusses what board readiness means, the essential duties of a corporate board, how public boards are organized by committees, and how to chart your course to becoming a corporate board director.
Bougie is a board member at MakerSights, as well as a strategic advisor and investor. As an advocate for sustainable and innovative brands, Bougie has extensive experience leading high-growth, digital-native, and omnichannel businesses at industry-defining companies such as Stitch Fix, Nike, Patagonia, and Gap Inc. She has proven success with both tech-driven startups and global consumer brands, and is on the board of a number of companies in addition to MakerSights. From 2004 to 2013, Bougie served in a variety of capacities at Nike, most recently as vice president/general manager, direct to consumer, emerging markets from January 2012 to 2013. She holds a B.S. in Marketing from Santa Clara University. Bougie has also created a Women’s Corporate Board Readiness program at Santa Clara University.
